Updates as of 12 Spetember, 2024

Dear Student,

We had the opportunity to discuss these issues with the Chief Student Officer, sharing all of our concerns.

We now have a significant update for you: the VU Industrial Action has been suspended, and the university has committed to supporting affected students in the best way possible. We encourage you to send us an email or fill out the form in the Contact section, and share how the Industrial Action has impacted your studies and personal circumstances.

 VU Industrial Action

Dear VU Students,

As your student representatives, we understand the frustration and uncertainty many of you are feeling due to the ongoing industrial action and its impact on your studies. We share your concerns and are actively working to ensure that your voices are heard by the University’s management.

We recently sent a formal letter to the Vice-Chancellor, addressing the severe effects this situation is having on students, especially those in the block model. In the letter, we call for an immediate resolution that not only supports our dedicated staff but also protects the educational experience and well-being of all students at VU.

You can read the full letter [link below], where we outline the actions we believe the University must take to mitigate the disruption and provide clear communication, compensation, and support to students.

We want you to know that VUSU is fully committed to advocating for your best interests during this time. We encourage you to reach out if you have concerns or need assistance, and we will continue to update you as the situation progresses.

Together, we can ensure that student concerns remain a priority in the resolution of this matter. We are here to support you.

If you are a student affected by the industrial action and your teacher has not been attending class, we encourage you to visit VUHQ (Student Services). They can provide guidance on the available options to help address the loss you’ve experienced during this week.
