This year, VUSU is hosting a High Tea, which is free to attend. It is essential that you register through eventbrite to secure your spot as places are limited!
VenU is VU's award-winning student-run restaurant at Footscray Nicholson Campus. The industry-standard facility provides a simulated work environment for hospitality students to refine their skills under the guidance of expert teachers.
Shelley Hewson is currently an Academic Teaching Scholar in Social Work at Victoria University, as well as the Project Manager of the Working Together with Men project provided by HealthWest Partnership.
Shelley has worked as a Social Worker for over 12 years, across 4 states of Australia. She has project managed a number of unique and innovative health and community start up programs. Some of which include pirate therapy groups for young boys experiencing family violence and homelessness and fathering without violence educational workshops within a Men’s Behaviour Change program. Shelley is passionate about approaches that support and create real opportunities for community led action and change.
Sonny Charles professional background is in economics and the banking sector, but along the way his passion for community, education and being an ally for change has seen him diversify his career path. Sonny is currently employed by HealthWest Partnership as the Project Officer for Men of Brimbank. This grassroots project was the first of its kind in Victoria, that engaged men from the community in projects that aimed to prevent violence against women.
